Overview of Vision Correction Procedures

At FreeVis, we offer our patients a broad spectrum of vision correction surgery.

Laser Vision Correction Procedures

NEW INTRACOR®
A new laser procedure using a femotsecond laser to correct presbyopia.

iLASIK
The iLASIK procedure provides the latest innovation in LASIK technologies. By combining wavefront-guided LASIK and Femto-LASIK, iLASIK achieves a 100 percent individual correction of the refractive error.

Wavefront-guided LASIK
Wavefront-guided or "Custom" LASIK uses 3-dimensional measurements of how the eye processes images to guide the laser in re-shaping the cornea.

All-laser LASIK, Femto-LASIK
Femto-LASIK uses the femtosecond laser instead of a mechanical microkeratome to cut the corneal flap.

Traditional LASIK
The traditional LASIK uses a mechanical microkeratome to cut the corneal flap.

Epi-LASIK
Epi-LASIK, an advanced PRK or LASEK, is used for patients with thin corneas.

Lens Procedures

Phakic Lens Implants / Acrysof Cachet Phakic Lens
A phakic lens is an additional synthetic lens that is implanted into the eye to correct the existing refractive error.

Refractive Lens Exchange
A lens exchange is used in cases of severe refractive errors. The eye's own natural lens is removed and replaced with a synthetic lens.

Presbyopic Lens Exchange / PRELEX
The natural lens is replaced by a multifocal lens which provides relief for presbyopia at well as for nearsightedness or farsightedness.

Correction of Astigmatism

iLASIK
iLASIK corrects nearsightedness or farsightedness with an accompanying astigmatism of up to 5 dpt.

Toric lenses
Toric lenses correct nearsightedness or farsightedness with an accompanying astigmatism. They can be used for lens implants and lens exchanges.

Astigmatic Keratotomy
Astigmatic keratotomy is only used to reduce severe astigmatism of approximately 5 dpt or higher.

Combination Procedures
Various procedures can be combined to perfect the result.

Bioptics
The combination of a lens implant/exchange and a subsequent LASIK procedure is most commonly used to eliminate any remaining refractive error, for example an existing astigmatism.

Presbyopa Correction

NEW INTRACOR®
A new laser procedure using a femotsecond laser to correct presbyopia.

Presbyopic Lens Exchange / PRELEX
PRELEX is a refractive lens exchange with the implantation of a multifocal lens that provides relief for presbyopia as well as for nearsightedness or farsightedness.

Monovision LASIK
With Monovision LASIK, one eye is treated for distance vision and the other eye (usually non-dominant eye) is treated for near vision.

KAMRATM Inlay (previously AcuFocus Corneal Inlay)
A micro-thin implant is placed within the cornea of the non-dominant eye.
