Requirements for Refractive Surgery

Glasses can be a nuisance in everyday life as well as in recreational and physical activities.

Cosmetic and psychological concerns may reduce self-confidence. Unpleasant irritations or allergies against cleaning and sterilizing agents may be the reason for non-tolerance of contact lenses.

If the following criteria are applicable to you, and you have undergone an intensive exam by a refractive surgeon, refractive laser surgery may be an excellent alternative:

Your refractive error should be stable.
You should be at least 18 years of age.
No other ophthalmologic disorders (for example cataract or glaucoma)
No other general disorders (for example arthritis) should be present.

Should you suffer from allergies, your surgery should be scheduled at an allergy-free time. Treatment during pregnancy or while nursing is not recommended.
