Improve Your Reading Vision with the AcuFocus Implant
What is presbyopia?
When we reach the age of 45, most people experience blurring of focus
for near objects, such as when reading or working at the computer. Withpresbyopia, the eye can no longer focus on near objects and unfocused
light reaches the retina, making near objects blurry. This is a natural
occurrence that affects us for the rest of our life, even if we have
remarkably good distance vision.
Presbyopia = Reading glasses?
Until now, reading glasses were the primary option for people with presbyopia. Reading glasses allow people with presbyopia to see
objects that are near. However, many people
don’t like the way they look or getting stuck without them. The new AcuFocus™ ACI 7000 implant blocks out unfocused
light and only allows focused light to reach the retina.
This makes close objects clear. Our Center is one of only few European clinics participating in a FDA approved clinical trial to prove the safety and efficacy of the AcuFocus implant.
A simple way to
improve your
reading vision
The AcuFocus™ ACI 7000 is placed in your cornea. There, it sits securely without the use of sutures. All that is required for your
comfort during the procedure is a local anesthetic in
the form of eye drops. The AcuFocus procedure
takes less than 30 minutes and is performed right
in your doctor’s facility.
Following the AcuFocus procedure, you should
notice an improvement in your near vision. Your
near vision while reading or working at the computer should continue to improve over the next six months.
Are you interested?
Are you frustrated by the fact that you have trouble reading or need reading
glasses? If so, then you could benefit from the AcuFocus implant. The AcuFocus clinical trial is open to men and women
between the ages of 45 and 55 years of age who are in good health and
have normal, healthy vision.
To determine your eligibility for participation, a clinical trial doctor will conduct
a thorough eye examination to establish the health and quality of your vision.
After the procedure, you must be willing and able to return for scheduled follow-up examinations. Return visits will be scheduled with you by the medical team and will occur at least eleven (11)
times over a three-year period. The clinical trial doctor will explain the timing of these visits.
You will not be charged for the surgery and the follow-up visits.
